The first thing being that this subject has not been requested by any DG but is a freely chosen topic to investigate for the JRC.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-274\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sustainable-everyday-project.net\/jrc-policylabpilot\/files\/2015\/03\/IMG_0645-680x510.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_0645\" width=\"680\" height=\"510\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sustainable-everyday-project.net\/jrc-policylabpilot\/files\/2015\/03\/IMG_0645-680x510.jpg 680w, http:\/\/www.sustainable-everyday-project.net\/jrc-policylabpilot\/files\/2015\/03\/IMG_0645-450x338.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHY CHOOSE &#8220;SOCIAL CHANGE IN AN HYPERCONNECTED ERA&#8221; AS AN EXPLORATORY TOPIC ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When approaching large research topics\u00a0in the past, we have set up long-term (ca 2 years) processes\u00a0which\u00a0are quite academic and scientific in nature. At the same time we have\u00a0demand\u00a0from colleagues in policy DGs\u00a0which are\u00a0fast moving, and sometimes\u00a0more &#8216;hands-on&#8217;, requiring different, quicker\u00a0approaches.<\/p>\n<p>Using design thinking to construct a process where we invite\u00a0stakeholders to\u00a0co-design several study\u00a0projects ranging from short experiments\u00a0to\u00a0longer studies\u00a0looks like a potentially\u00a0promising\u00a0way of engaging stakeholders further throughout the whole process,\u00a0making sure that\u00a0the outcome is as\u00a0relevant as possible, in terms of format and timing.<\/p>\n<p>By designing\u00a0a comprehensive process, while drawing on the unit experiences\u00a0in the past, the exploraiton of the topic of <strong>Social change in an hyperconnected era <\/strong>will hopefully deepen our understanding of what the EU Policy Innovation Lab\u00a0should\u00a0become, while\u00a0offering plenty of ideas\u00a0for different type of activities for the unit as a\u00a0whole.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE TOPIC The project will explore a wide\u00a0and rarely investigated topic\u00a0within the JRC that has important implications for our futures society: Social change in an hyperconnected era.
