Neighbourhood in transition<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Renovating 360 \u200b\u200bhousing units in the city of Elocques, a set of small working-class houses built in 1900 on a site of 13.7 hectares in Hellemmes : a rehabilitation project that will be ongoing until 2024, involving \u201cdrawer housings\u201d wherein the inhabitants leave their home during renovations and live in \u00ab\u00a0tampon\u00a0\u00bb housings. It\u2019s a heavy renovation and a typological reconfiguration that doesn\u2019t guarantee tenants a return to theirhomes. 4 years of construction and disruption that will undermine a family-friendly neighbourhood, where you can feel the solidarity in building entrances, during morning trips to school or during week-end events.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Renovating without harmingthe social capital<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

H\u00f4t-El, literally \u00ab\u00a0the hotel of Elocques\u201d,is the architectural agency BLAU\u2019s proposal, carried out by stakeholders of the Hellemmes city project, Lille M\u00e9tropole Habitat, Eiffage, alandlord and asocial pilot: a \u00ab\u00a0hotel\u00a0\u00bb to serveinhabitants awaiting their new housing and to support them with diverse matters, as work or rehousing, along with social, cultural, environmental and landscaping aspects of the neighbourhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than a house of projects \u2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The H\u00f4t-El is a place of welcome, a living and sharing environment set up in the ground floor of one of the neighbourhood houses, offering a set of works around the memory of the place, photographs of the construction in 1900, INA archives on the participative renovation in the 80s, coverage on the current renovation, typological models and 3D simulations, a learning garden … all run by the social pilot, handed over by the social stakeholders of the city and neighbourhood associations. In addition, on the upper floors, you can find two drawer housings for people wishing to move side by side or for more fragile people for whom it can be reassuring to be close to the people in charge. More than a house of projects, H\u00f4t-El aims to guide over the few years of construction, be able to exchange and answer questions, reassure tenants and take this opportunity to learn together the art of gardening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
