Omnipresent at the beginning of last&nbsp;century, today only&nbsp;a meagre legacy is left&nbsp;of these \u00ab\u00a0giants of work\u201d,whose history and future prospects&nbsp;remain still unknown to the general public.&nbsp;All the testimonies, consultations and studies carried outaround them reveal,&nbsp;nevertheless, areal interest in them. Therefore, how&nbsp;can wefacilitate the perception of&nbsp;this&nbsp;heritage\u2019s evolution, cultural&nbsp;shared foundationof the territory?<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sustainable-everyday-project.net\/ville-collaborative\/files\/2020\/06\/POC-CARTO_06_low-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"blocks-gallery-item__caption\">\ufeff<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Raising awareness of&nbsp;the&nbsp;local industrial heritage<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>Let&rsquo;s make our factory chimneys express themselves&nbsp;in order&nbsp;to discover themfurther!\u201d<\/em> is the watchword&nbsp;issued by VivaCit\u00e9S Hauts-de-France and Interphaz, with the expertise of Non-Lieu and the support of Tourcoing&rsquo;s heritage department. Following this perspective, the two associations have initiated a project to map&nbsp;Lille\u2019s&nbsp;factory chimneys, in line with their (popular) educational approach to urban environment. The prototype, created&nbsp;withina collaborative and innovative approach, aims to highlight the expertise&nbsp;ofuse by offering a common tool to raise awareness&nbsp;about the industrial heritage, while creating a pedagogical and methodological guide for setting up participatory maps&nbsp;aimed at the region\u2019s stakeholders.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Participatory mapping<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Participatory maps are increasingly&nbsp;being&nbsp;used as tools&nbsp;to representour space and&nbsp;environment. In addition to&nbsp;the ambition to get everyone talking about their&nbsp;own practices and uses of the city, they participate in another way of thinking about the city, in which everyone can put forward their expertise&nbsp;of use.
