The campus\u2019 large dimensions were quite discouraging at the moment while all attention was concentrated in the mobility infrastructures.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The residents of Joncherettes, fans of walking, initiated the step by step program. They or- ganized walking tours under different themes, giving them either a competitive athletic character or a leisure-cultural character.\u00a0\u201cCount the stairs\u201d is conceived as a game introducing exercise in the stairs found in surrounding cities like Orsay.\u00a0\u201cIn the forest\u201d is a tour for the fans of trekking.\u00a0\u201cWalk \u00e0 l\u2019anglaise\u201d is a walking tour held in Eng- lish for foreign speakers, visitors or tourists of the cluster.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>The program has been widely supported by the CAPS as a part of its overall policy In Saclay we walk! which promotes walking as a means of transport in the campus neighbourhoods. The step by step program seems to have played a ma- jor role in the promotion of walking not only at leisure times but also after working hours.<\/p>\n<p>The CAPS after the launch of the Walk your way home program was happy to see positive results in the people\u2019s choice of walking as a means of transport since it could be combined with stops either at nearby restaurants or shopping kiosks at the end of the day.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8212;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The Step by Step Program<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/43456236?color=ffffff\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"650\" height=\"355\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<em>La mise en place du projet de campus de Saclay en 2012 a \u00e9t\u00e9 confrontee a des defis majeurs. L\u2019un d\u2019entre eux consistait a se demander com- ment faire du plateau une zone de deplacements a pied. Au debut, les dimensions vastes du campus ont \u00e9t\u00e9 un reel frein, alors que toute l\u2019attention etait concentr\u00e9e sur le developpement des infra- structures de mobilit\u00e9.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Les habitants du quartier des Joncherettes, veritables fans de marche a pied, ont lanc\u00e9 le pro- gramme \u00ab pas \u00e0 pas \u00bb. Ils ont mis en place des randonn\u00e9es th\u00e8matiques, en leur donnant un caract\u00e8re de defi sportif, ou un caract\u00e8re de loisir cul- turel.\u00a0\u201cCompter les escaliers\u201d a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u comme un jeu introduisant l\u2019exercice dans l\u2019ascension des escaliers interminables dans les villes environnantes comme Orsay.\u00a0On trouve aussi : \u201cDans la for\u00eat\u201d pour les fans de trekking, et \u00abmarche \u00e0 l\u2019anglaise\u00bb qui est une balade r\u00e9alis\u00e9e en anglais pour les visi- teurs \u00e9trangers, ou les touristes du cluster.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Le programme a \u00e9t\u00e9 largement soutenue par la CAPS dans le cadre de sa politique g\u00e9n\u00e9rale \u00ab \u00e0 Saclay nous marchons! \u00bb qui valorise la marche en tant que moyen de transport dans les quartiers du campus. Le programme \u00ab pas a pas \u00bb semble avoir jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le majeur dans la promotion de la marche non seulement \u00e0 des fins de loisir, mais aussi en tant que pratique apres les journees de travail.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Le CAPS, apr\u00e8s le lancement du programme \u00ab rentrer a pied \u00bb \u00e9tait tres satisfait des premiers r\u00e9sultats.
