Established in the neighborhood of Palaiseau city, it has become a major attraction in the area, thanks to its experimental caf\u00e9. Students and researchers commonly decided to open a public caf\u00e9 ten years ago, so to experiment and test new typologies of food and tastes, communicate about healthy diet benefits, and open a window on the school\u2019s activities and fields of research. We are all concerned about the future of food, as customers have become more and more accurate about processed food composition, and nutritional facts.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #262626;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\">By the way, APT lab\u2019s caf\u00e9 has nothing in common with a lab \u2013 but its name. Guests are welcomed in a very cosy and green space, designed with the help of the environmental studies department of APT : specific indoor plants help purify the air, organic leftovers and tableware are recycled in a collective compost, and a common water-tank provide recycled water from the sewers. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #262626;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\">The lab\u2019s caf\u00e9 definitely triggered the public interest and curiousity, and thus helped the school to communicate about its activities, much better than a \u00abone day open door\u00bb.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><strong>&#8212;<\/strong><\/div>\n<p><strong><em>Agro Paris Tech caf\u00e9-labo<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/43451899?color=ffffff\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"650\" height=\"355\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #262626;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><em>Agro Paris Tech est l\u2019une des plus grandes \u00e9cole d\u2019ing\u00e9nierie sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e dans l\u2019agro-alimentaire, les sciences du vivant, les bio-technologies et le commerce des produits alimentaires. Depuis une dizaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es, Agro Paris Tech est devenue une \u00e9tape <span style=\"color: #000000;\">incontournable du quartier de Palaiseau dans lequel elle est implant\u00e9e gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son caf\u00e9-labo. A l\u2019\u00e9poque, un groupe form\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9tudiants et de chercheurs de l\u2019\u00e9cole avait propos\u00e9 l\u2019ouverture d\u2019un caf\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e9cole au grand public, afin d\u2019exp\u00e9rimenter et de faire tester de nouvelles formes de nourritures, un \u00e9veil aux go\u00fbts, de communiquer sur les bienfaits d\u2019une alimentation vari\u00e9e, et offrir une visibilit\u00e9 sur les projets <\/span><\/em><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><em>et recherches<\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><em> de l\u2019\u00e9cole. Aujourd\u2019hui, la plupart des gens se sentent concern\u00e9s par la qualit\u00e9 de leur alimentation. Les consommateurs gagnent en comp\u00e9tences, et s\u2019informent sur les processes de transformation alimentaires, et les compositi<\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><em>ons <\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><em>nutritionnelles.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #262626;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><em>N\u00e9anmoins, le caf\u00e9-labo n\u2019a pas l\u2019apparence d\u2019un laboratoire. Les convives sont accueillis dans un espace tr\u00e8s confortable, et \u00e9co-con\u00e7u avec l\u2019aide des sections \u00ab Environnement \u00bb d\u2019Agro Paris Tech : des plantes int\u00e9rieures purifient l\u2019air ambiant, les vaisselles et mati\u00e8res organiques sont valoris\u00e9es dans un compost collectif, et une fontaine distribue une eau purifi\u00e9e et potable issue des \u00e9gouts.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #262626;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, serif;\"><em>Le caf\u00e9 est devenu un lieu de rencontres et d\u2019exp\u00e9riences, qui a aussi permis \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cole d\u2019assurer une communication de qualit\u00e9 sur sa mission et ses cursus, bien au del\u00e0 des simples \u00ab portes ouvertes \u00bb annuelles.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Agro Paris Tech is one of the major french engineering school for environment, food-processing, bio-technologies, and food marketing.
