<strong>Metropole are invited to dialogue with the projects of design schools and universities around the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Post-pandemic design<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>About fifteen labs of the DESIS (Design for Social Innovation and Sustainable Development) international network are echoing in the POC to mobilize resources in an emergency, to rethink public space and social life in distancing, to invent new mixes between face-to-face and online \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Collab Graja\u00fa, local and connected<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">In the Graja\u00fa neighbourhood in Rio de Janeiro, the initiative of the design university \u00ab\u00a0My Neighbourhood Project\u00a0\u00bb was to build a strong relationship with people, encouraging residents to be active agents of change in their community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">During the pandemic period, a Collab Graja\u00fa participatory mapping exercise identified small businesses and volunteers in the neighbourhood in order to stimulate self-help and personal connections between residents\/workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">After the pandemic, the Graja\u00fa Collab map will continue to be available online as a reliable source of services, encouraging the local economy and showcasing local small businesses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Temporary Local Address<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">The <em>Temporary Local Address<\/em> <em>project<\/em> is looking at how homeless people can access Covid19 information and financial assistance during the pandemic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Parsons students in New York are collaborating with Brooklyn Public Libraries to design a temporary local address service: how to provide access to personal mailboxes, notify homeless people, pick up mail, alleviate an emergency situation without creating insecurity&#8230;\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure day in the canteens of its 3 primary schools, 1000 meals 100% organic and local. The secret is the meticulous design of sustainable canteens at every phase of the process: 7ha of preserved land in the town centre where a certified organic farm is installed; a municipal farm where 3 municipal farmer-agents produce the main part of the fruit and vegetables supplying the canteen; the participation of children, teachers and kitchen teams to achieve almost zero food waste.
