Core group first work session
The first core group meeting took place in the morning on February 26th, 2015. The team meeting was composed of 3 JRC members, Tine, Daniel and Emanuele as well as 3 designers from SDS, François, Christophe and Emma.
The main objective of this first framing discussion was to elaborate the main steps of the “onsite sessions” as well as drawing a first draft of the stakeholders map.
We also reminded everyone that this pilot was composed of 2 parallel and simultaneous activities :
– the exploration of the topic of “social change in an hyperconnected era” which is somehow the “pretext” to develop the lab but at the same time appears as a crucial subject to investigate for the JRC – it has been also reminded that this topic should not be considered as a “foresight study” only, but rather as a topic to investigate in wider and more open ways… (that can lead to behaviourial considerations, experential tests, prototyping exercises…)
– the creation and implementation of a policy lab within the JRC (meaning both physically and in terms of tools, lab approach, methodology, etc.)
Good work by Francois and Christophe
By building process design artefacts in a blog, they create momentum and direction for the unit.Excellent.
An emerging challenge I see, how can we expose these artefacts to potential partners (close friends etc) in a way that is attractive (.e.g. for collaboration, “we like this”) and compelling (e.g. sense urgency, “we need this”) without being to dominating (amount of info already available, “we matter”). I guess a selection process is needed to developed a light version …
