A sign that the restaurants in Gothenburg are able to put on the entrance to show that they offer Doggy bag.

The consumer and citizens office in Gothenburg made a survey in June 2013 where they asked both consumers and restaurant-owners if they know what a Doggy bag is? Is it common that customers ask for a doggy bag, do they offer the customers doggy bag and do the costumers ask for it? The survey (40 restaurants and 45 consumers) showed that the guests in Gothenburg are embarrassed to ask for a Doggy bag. On the other hand the restaurant-owners are very positive to give the consumer food they ask for (residues). The restaurants usually have boxes to deliver food in. The consumer want the staff to ask: “Would you like to bring at doggy bag home”. It is not so common today in Sweden. This could be a way to reduce food-waste. The consumer and citizens office also offers the restaurants a sign that they are able to put on the restaurants door or entrance that they offer doggy bag.
