Registrations now open! 16-17 March 2015, Conference in Bristol – European Sustainable Food Cities

On 16 March 2015 , the international conference “Sharing city journeys towards a good food future Sustainable food conference for European Cities welcomes city representatives and interested parties engaging in strategies for low-carbon and resource-efficient urban food systems to share learningon how cities are putting food on their policy agendas, addressing issues relating to “growing” (production), “delivering” (supply) and “enjoying” (demand).
A joint reflection on how cities take an active role in food and develop strategies that create synergies, increase resilience and generate a vision of a coherent local food system. Hosted by Bristol, the European Green Capital in 2015, the event will share the outcomes of three years of rich exchanges of the Sustainable Food in Urban Communities Network, a European project co-financed by the ERDF through the URBACT II programme.
It will bring together knowledge and experience from participants outside the network and of the 10 partner cities: Brussels Capital Region (BE), Amersfoort (NL), Athens (GR), Bristol (UK), Gothenburg (SE), Lyon (FR), Messina (IT), Oslo (NO), Ourense (ES), and Vaslui (RO).
Held in English only, the conference is free, but open to a limited number of participants.
In the evening, the mayor of Bristol invites conference participants to meet and interact with the member cities of the UK Sustainable Food Cities Network and local stakeholders.

Due to the focus of the event prioritiy will be given to representatives from cities across Europe.

UK Side event – Sustainable Food Cities Conference On 17 March 2015, Bristol will also host the annual conference of the UK Sustainable Food Cities Network The event will take place in the same venue in English. This event is primarily intended for UK cities who are members of the entwork with a limited number of seats open to international participants. It requires separate registration.
